Alaska is The Great Land for more than one reason. The distance between Eastern Star chapters is great, which makes it challenging for Alaska members to get together. Besides providing information to people who are potentially new members, it is the hope of the Alaskan Order that this site will bring our own Sisters and Brothers closer together.

The Order of the Eastern Star is a wonderful fraternal organization, comprised of people from all walks of life who wish to live a good and moral life under principles including loyalty, faith, constancy, charity, truth and loving-kindness. In these sometimes-uncertain times, Eastern Star members can enjoy the security of knowing that wherever we may go, there will be friends and helping hands when we are in need.
Membership in the Order of the Eastern Star offers many more practical benefits as well, especially for young adults just starting out in life who choose to join.
When a member makes the decision to Go up the line, he or she will learn other valuable, everyday lessons such as public speaking, event planning, how to preside over meetings and make decisions. Membership activities build confidence in numerous ways.
